Where to Sit
The modernist wine-cellar dining room gets loud quickly. Opt for the main dining room if quiet conversation is a priority.
Save Money
The chef offers a reasonably priced, five-course tasting menu every night.
FourSquare Tips
Traditional Louisiana cooking gets a little inspiration from a worldwise, James Beard award-winning chef at this restaurant. Try the oysters three ways for a tasty appetizer with Southern roots.
When was the last time your fine dining experience offered a vegetarian "Farmers Market" tasting menu specially designed by a Top Chef Master? You won't be disappointed!
Try the Watermelon gazpacho with pickled red onions. http://www.bestofneworleans.com/gambit/five-chilled-soups/Content?oid=1868511
There were 2 tasting menu options this evening & 1 was vegetarian (but not vegan). Unbelievable! All items from tasting menus were available ala carte too.
While it may be costly, well worth the price to do the pairing menus. Experience everything Restaurant August has to offer.
Just flat-out delicious. We started with foie gras done three ways to start, and it got better from there.
The first 7 courses of the 12 course meal were delicious, I missed the last 5 courses, don't ask.
Maybe best meal of my life. Ask the sommelier for wine pairings. 2 apps, 1 entree and dessert and that should really do you well. Ask for hot fois gras trio. It's better than cold one.
Still my favorite restaurant in NOLA. Turn of your cell, don't be in a rush and get ready for possibly the best 7 courses you've had in a long time!
One of the most phenomenal meals I've ever had. Ask for Mark and Warren as your servers. You'll be well cared for!
