Save Money
Check out Mertitage on Sunday nights, when the award-winning French brasserie serves a three-course prix fixe menu for only $20. Chef Russell Klein serves up local and organic fare as well as French-inspired seasonal offerings, like French onion soup, steak tartare and roasted rack of Iowa lamb in winter. And don't forget to try the pommes frites with bernaise sauce as an additional $7 appetizer.
When to Go
For those working downtown, Meritage offers a refreshing change to your lunch landscape. Close that big deal or just meet co-workers there to talk about the boss.
What to Order
Meritage is revered for its seasonal menu with unique American-French fusion fare, but the truly epicurean-devoted go for French classics like bouillabaisse, steak frites and foie gras.
The Extras
On Saturdays and Sundays from 10am till 2pm, Meritage serves a to-die-for brunch that includes omelets, vanilla-scented French toast, eggs bendict and the restaurant's signature steak frites served with two eggs.
FourSquare Tips
The cassoule is absolutely superb and subtle. As close to French as they come in our neck of the woods.
The shrimp cocktail, made with wild-caught Pacific shrimp, is the best in town, hands down.
Try the oysters. The oyster bar is bringing in some real beauties. Imagine flavors that evoke cucumber, briny-salty air, and copper on the tongue.?Mpls.St.Paul Magazine, February 2011
The seared Minnesota foie gras with spiced cider reduction is a home run -- yes, it's an $18 appetizer, but it's $36 delicious.
Voted top ten chicken wings! The result is an intensely chickeny chicken wing with a distinctly bacony flavor that yields the bone with the gentlest nudge.
With such a brilliant menu, it may seem like a crime to order a hamburger -- but DO IT! One of the best kept burger secrets of the Twin Cities!
Beautiful patio, beautiful brunch!
Come for brunch to experience their range. Start w/ the petite appetizer bites ($3/ea) for a smoked salmon blini or a granola yogurt parfait
Non- pretentious french food in the SP area? Could it be? - Heck yeah!
Best brunch in the cities. Try the blood orange mimosas and any of the pastries.
