Know Before You Go
When the catering end of the business is in full swing, pre-ordered custom-shaped cakes take over the seating space and bakery items are limited.
The Extras
There's usually a slice of his famous Red Velvet cake for sale at the take-out counter.
FourSquare Tips
Ted Allen indulges his sweet tooth with Southern Red Velvet Cake from Cake Man Raven in Brooklyn, NY, on Food Network's The Best Thing I Ever Ate. Find more tips at FN Local.
Definitely get the 'official' red velvet cake. Perfect moist cake & creamy cheesecake frosting. Go to the Bklyn store in person as the phone tends to go unanswered - must be all that demand for cake!
Grab an extra slice of red velvet cake. Trust me, it's really THAT good.
I expected a man named Raven made of cake. I was disappointed
Officially over this place! The cake hasn't been good for a couple of years now. Definitely not worth 6 dollars per slice...waiting for another bakery to open up in this neighborhood!
Best Red Velvet Cake in NYC!!!
The cake is worth every penny. Get some extra forks and take it next door to the beer garden.
Call before you go because they don't run their business correctly. They never have cake and you always have to wait when they do have cake.
Great red velvet. The frosting is a little sweet for me, but def opt for pecans. Would be better at $4-5 a slice
On your Birthday, don't forget to go by for your free slice!!!
