CitySearch Tips
What to Drink
The wine list includes $40-$60 reislings, Gruner Veltliners and gewurtztraminers, which pair well with the food. Don't overlook the exhaustive sake and sochu list.
Where to Sit
The 75-seat upstairs bar, wallpapered with bolts of antique kimono fabrics is more serene. Three large lounge tables overlook the scene below, and there's a private room for parties.
FourSquare Tips
One of my favorite places. -Jacqueline Laurita, Real Housewives of NJ
Order the Blessing Cocktail. Megu means ?blessing? in Japanese. There's a huge ice sculpture of Buddha downstairs. Make sure you pour rose petals & water onto him with the wooden ladle & make a wish.
Good variety during restaurant week, pick 3,
This is one of those places you go for a really special occasion, as dining here is an event. Just get the Omakase ? with the Sake Pairings, it?s worth the money!
Try for Restaurant Week
Crispy Shrimp to start with a Crab and Avocado Sushi roll. Wasabi and Gorgonzola Kobe skewers and prepare strips of Kobe beef on a river stone...end the night with a Chocolate Fondant!
Kobe beef...it will transport you to another planet!
More about the eye candy than the food, and it'll be the most expensive eye candy you've ever had. $135 for a sushi dinner for one, and I didn't even pig out.
I ordered the “Ishiyaki” kobe beef slices and was most satisfied with this choice.
Very SATC!
