Do you really need encouagement to go to this iconic cheesesteak house? Love the old-school vibe (instead of the trashy Vegas look across the street)! Still, the Claymont Steak Shop is my fav but any place serving fresh off the grill cjeesesteaks is great in my book!!

Save Time
Remember a few key terms, because you won't have a lot of time to order: Want a sandwich with American cheese instead of the default Cheez Whiz? Bark "American" at your server. Want fried onions? Just say "wid."
Know Before You Go
You couldn't miss it if you tried: Geno's is right across the street. Don't even bother getting involved with the diehards there, or you'll be arguing cheese steaks all night.
FourSquare Tips
Cheesesteak ordering etiquette: for a steak w/ Cheez Whiz & onions, order ?Whiz Wit.? If u prefer provolone & no onions, order ?Provolone Witout.? Wanna go to the back of the line? Ask for fontina.
"Screw Geno's! These are the best cheesesteaks in Philly, bar none." - Conan O'Brien
don't go to Geno's!!!!
Opened in 1930, Pat's chops its steak while Geno's does not. Grab one of the 1,500 steak sandwiches they make daily - "wit" or "wit-out," your choice.
better than Geno's and they are not neo-nazis!
Go & get yourself a killer cup'o'cheese fries (or a cheese steak, or both).
Have your money and order ready before you get to the window, or else you piss off the employees and the people behind you.
Try the Philly Cheese Steak and spot it on Foodspotting!
Wiz wit!
Whiz wit. That's all you need to say.
