We were personally disappointed. During our trip to Nashville we decided to eat at the Athens Family Restaurant. We saw the place on Triple D and thought the Lamb burger and the Greek meatballs both looked amazing. We both ended up ordering the bacon lamb burger. To us it tasted like a cafe burger. It wasn't much bigger than a fast food burger, it was a little of the dry side and pressed to the point of a frozen patty texture. The fries we had were also some of the worst I've ever had. We also got a side of Gyro meat just to try. It was better than your average Gyro meat to me. Overall it was disappointing compared to television. My personal experience was just below average. 4 or 10 stars

Ate here for dinner and thought the service was great and the food was good. Tried the Dolmades, Pastichio, Suzukakia featured for the Combination dinner that night preferred the Pastichio out of the three and the bechemal sauce was devine. A friend tried the Kotopita and loved it. If ever in the area again we will probably go back.

FourSquare Tips
Host of Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, Guy Fieri checked out this Greek favorite known for its bacon burger with a twist (it's made with lamb).
I was skeptical at first, but the food is legendary. Try the mushroom/sausage skillet. Try the Eggs Benedict. And the service is nothing but spectacular. Branscomb breakfast has nothing on this gem.
Lamb souvlaki platter!
Incredible Greek Diner. The breakfast potatoes are the best potato dish I've had.
Little known fact, Athens is totally BYOB!
The food was great. I had the traditional gyro sandwich. It was the bomb!!! The waiter was very nice as well.
Worlds best server, Leanna! (Guy was here)
Mathhew m doesn't know what he's talking about. All of the souvlaki/gyros are cooked fresh to order
The Greeks don't want no Freaks.
Disappointing gyros, good pancakes
