As seen on Man v Food, this is the original Salt Lick, and the best BBQ around. If you're anywhere in Texas, make the trip to Driftwood for Salt Lick's mouthwatering BBQ.
BEST BBQ this side of the Mississippi! Chow down on some ribs while over looking the beautiful hill country in Driftwood. But it?ll cost you: this little piece of heaven is 20 miles outside Austin.
Get away from the hustle and bustle that is Austin for a few hours and enjoy some BBQ (or super hearty veggie sides). Mapquest organizes a free BBQ bus every year at SXSW. - Erica Swallow
At Salt Lick, enjoy slow-smoked meat to your hearts content. This restaurant offers a family-style meal with never-ending ribs, brisket, sausages and more. Seen on Food Paradise: Manliest Restaurants.
Go to the Salt Lick BBQ, the original one in Driftwood. Skip the others (especially the airport one). Make sure to try the spicy barbeque sauce. Go HUNGRY.
Eat a lot of meat. Don't forget the carbs, because meat without carbs is like marriage without the sex.
Cash only and BYOB. Make sure to bring lots of beer!
Go to the Salt Lick and try the all you can eat plate - brisket, sausage and ribs. It doesn't get more authentic than this.

Drive your pickup on down to Driftwood for some seriously good bbq. BYOB. Sit outside. Enjoy the sweet downhome feel of the Texas Hill Country.
