Parking
The small parking lot can easily fill up during weekend breakfasts. Try parking across the street in front of REI or at the Whole Foods complex.
Where to Sit
Hunker down at the counter for the full diner experience, or sit outside at one of the small tables on the sidewalk along Lamar.
Look Good
Try the buttermilk pancakes, possibly the fluffiest in town.
FourSquare Tips
This tiny restaurant serves some of the best locally-sourced food we've had in a town wild for locally-sourced food. And, yes, their famous burgers are amazing. [Eater 38 Member]
Order the burger. Avoid everything else. Savor the burger. Wipe hands thoroughly. Exit transformed.?
Try the Counter Burger. The sweet, buttery bun forms a toasty halo around the beef. Draped with Cheddar, the Rubenesque hand-formed patty works in juicy accord with Bibb lettuce, red onion and tomato.
The Counter Benedict is the perfect hangover cure. Thick slices of Niman Ranch pastrami and two gooey-yolked eggs perched on a flaky, open-faced homemade biscuit.
Avoid going with more than one other person for seating's sake. Best bun around.
Probably the best breakfast tacos I've ever had!
If you are not sitting at the counter having a conversation with the chef about how he loves his ingredients and the dishes he makes, you are missing out!
Steak & Eggs, Steak & Eggs, Steak & Eggs! Nobody does steak & eggs like these guys do.
get the grilled pimento cheese sandwich. careful, it's not for amateurs.
This retro diner serves classics with a Texas twist. It's so tiny that you'll inevitably wait for a table, but it's worth it for dishes like the Counter Benedict.
