The Extras
Also check out Carney's Studio City location.
Save Money
Beer and chicken tacos are heavily discounted during happy hour, Monday through Friday from 4:30pm to 7:30pm.
Where to Sit
Every seat is a window seat aboard this train, but the outdoor tables allow for excellent people watching on the Strip.
When to Go
Lunchtime tends to be very busy. For a more mellow meal, consider going for dinner during the week.
Know Before You Go
Vegetarian? Carney's offers meatless burgers and dogs so you won't feel left out.
FourSquare Tips
The "Hot Dog Train." The best hot dog in Los Angeles and the greatest place to go with a kid. Step into the train and let the good times roll. -David Applebaum, Launch My Line
Marc Summers, of Food Network's The Best Thing I Ever Ate, craves the classic American comfort food of burgers and hot dogs at Carneys in Los Angeles, CA. Find more tips at Food Network Local.
A pretty good hot dog! Grilled or steamed, crackly-skinned, bursting with a splash of garlicky juice & slender but considerable! Situated in two ancient Union Pacific cars & great for people watching!
Must order the Carney's Chili Dog
I'm not on board (see what I did there?) with the food. However, sitting outside with a burger and beer on a nice day during happy hour is good stuff. Bonussauce: free parking in the back.
Their chili dogs will make a vegetarian go carniverous.<3
Beware of the trains
Casual burger joint inhabits 1920s yellow Amtrak passenger car. Grab chili dogs/burger & beers. Watch the Strip traffic parade.
The train is cool and you get arguably the best hotdogs you'll ever taste (Although I know a few places in New York that may disagree) - You just have to go here. YOU HAVE TO!
Cheeseburger and fries were decent, but the cookies are balls-to-the-wall amazing. and they're $1....crazy awesome
