good way to kill an hour while on lunch break at convention center. Seating is limited, but friendly patrons share tables, or get it to go.

Where to Sit
The wooden chairs might look good but hard seats can take a toll on the back. Jockey for a padded booth if possible.
What to Drink
The bar features a carefully selected wine list, but more appropriate for the meal is one of the many local beers on tap, a flight of several bourbons, or any of the traditional local cocktails. Don't miss out on the authentic moonshine for a real southern experience.

A James Beard Award winning restaurant run by two James Beard Award winning chefs, there?s no surprise Cochon is among the best restaurants in town. [Eater 38 Member]
If you want hip Cajun food without pretenses, the is the place for you. Try the rabbit and dumplings served in a cast-iron skillet: the perfect tribute to traditional New Orleans cuisine.
get a pork belly sandwich. (it's bacon, ppl)
Calling itself a "butcher shop and swine bar," they serve the best muffuletta in town and some damn good boudin. Everything else is good, too. [Eater 38 Member]
This eatery was one of the first to open in New Orleans after Katrina, and it's a joyous celebration of Louisiana's Cajun roots. Try the homemade andouille sausage in a traditional gumbo.
The fried boudin with pickled peppers is delicious! A must try!!!
Order whatever the waiter tells you. Enjoy.
favorite restaurant in new orleans. roasted oysters, rabbit & dumplings, fried alligator. great bar scene...all the meat courses are tasty but the vegetables & sides are highly underrated. so good
