Went there tonight after attending a tradeshow at the convention center. Had seen it on DDD earlier this week and decided I had to try it. I was not disappointed. The food was fantastic, and the staff was great too. Lola herself was working the front grill and spent time talking with a group of us. Try the grilled oysters...wow! And be sure to leave room for dessert. My only complaint was that the taxi company left me hanging there almost an hour until they finally got there. Oh well, I was forced to have a few more beers, while Lola and her staff made sure I felt at home. Will be sure to come back next time I am in town.

I'm sure she treated Guy better than she did me and my coworkers today. I went there for lunch today. It was the second time I have eaten at Lola's. The food is okay, but nothing rave about and the prices are so so. We arrived at 11 am as they opened so the place was empty. I'm a quick eater, as were the other two I was with, so we finished quickly. We finished our meals, and we didn't get a refill on our drinks. It didn't take long to understand why they didn't give us refills on our drink. The place had filled up in 40 minutes. It wasn't long before someeone (I presume it must have been Lola, but not sure since this person didn't identify themself to us). We were told there were others waiting outside for a table, so we got the message that we weren't welcome anymore. I haven't had lunch with the people I was with in two years. We weren't "hogging" a table, but were made to feel that we weren't welcome. Needless to say this is the last time I will eat at Lola's because their management does not respect customers.

The blackened shrimp po-boy is excellent. The fries? Not so much. Next time I'll try the potato salad as my side.
Great experience
This place is over hyped. Have had 3 rotten experiences. The food is bad, the service is just plain awful. Tacky decor, obnoxious owner. What is the big deal with this place?
