Their tagline says it all. The place is a modern/classic oxymoron, that somehow works quite well. Lansky?s isn?t old, but somehow seems classic. I?m not talking Katz?s classic, but it has done a nice job of making a cozy pub-like decor and good soundtrack ? we heard some Bowie tunes. They serve the requisite garlicky pickles and creamy coleslaw as complimentary starters. We split the ?Coney Island Knishwich?, and along with our Dr. Brown?s, it was a tasty, filling lunch. The Extras
Lansky's offers a Central Park lunch basket with two sandwiches, sodas and desserts for $32.
What to Drink
As with any Jewish deli, Dr. Brown's sodas are de rigueur, but Lansky's also makes a pretty solid egg cream.
Know Before You Go
These sandwiches are big--real gut-busters. Consider splitting one.
FourSquare Tips
Lansky's is stacking up a whopping seven-pound sandwich of corned beef and pastrami between potato knish, on Food Network's Outrageous Food with Tom Pizzica.Find more tips at FN Local.
Words can?t describe this heavenly deli. It?s definitely worth the wait for the matzo ball soup and roast beef sandwich. A warm atmosphere and large portions satisfies diners at a reasonably good pric
3 dollar beers are amazing. Not cheap beer either but good stuff. The burgers are awesome. And the sweet potato fries... Mmmmmmmmmmmm
One of NYC's best and cheapest kosher delis. Try the matzo ball soup for $4.50 & the pastrami, tomato and grilled cheddar on rye for $9.25.
I have yet to have anything here that wasn't Fantastic. Breakfast wraps and soups are delicious, the pastrami is at least as good as Katz's if not better (try the riverside)Fries r simple but Amazing
Great Rueben!
Say hi to Mr. Lansky!
Great traditional deli in the Upper West Side. Huge large and diverse menu and huge sandwiches. Try the Oreo shake for dessert if you're still hungry.
Best Jewish soul food in town. Matzoh balls (almost) like your mom and grandma made em....and the pastrami is absolute perfection. And on top of that, very moderately priced!
Great $3 beer special everyday from 4:30 to close including imports and craft brews.
