Know Before You Go
Tables are close together, and the tall Eames bar stools require some nimble navigation. This place fills up fast. Calling ahead to reserve a table is smart move.
The Extras
While even the most vanilla of shakes will change with the seasons; look to the menu board to see the shake of the day, and seasonal pies.\nWarning: the roasted banana and brown sugar, or chocolate and peanut butter, or S'More shake may become habit-forming.
What to Drink
More than 40 wines are here, selected by the level II sommelier, also the general manager. Microbrews, seasonal beers, and humble cans of beer (priced cheaply) are here, along with the familiar diner stable of juices, sodas, and specialty coffees and teas.
FourSquare Tips
Chicken and waffles are the go-to, but I'm also a huge fan of the mixed green salad with the shallot vinaigrette (add the pulled chicken if you're into that sort of thing).
get the chicken and waffles!
If you're starving but aren't in the mood for battery chicken and waffles, the Charred Bitters salad is delicious, healthy(?), and quite bitter.
Happy hour from 7am til 7 pm
Don't trust her
Chicken and waffles are our go-to meal here after 2AM in downtown Austin. The fresh juices are refreshing and most of their food is bought local & fresh, so enjoy!
Servers got attitude, and take forever. Good overpriced food.
French toast is a must-have. Delicious challah bread, vanilla mascarpone and fresh blueberries. Add a little maple syrup and it's heavenly.
Get the bacon gargonzola burger. Seriously one of the best burgers in town.
Around-the-clock updated diner and comfort food like classic breakfast plates, sweet potato hash, meatloaf sandwiches and specials made from locally sourced ingredients.
