Yeah this is in a shady part of town and almost ran out the place when I saw but I'm glad I stayed. Of course the dogs are amazing but the surprise is the burgers.

The place is a total dive to the nth degree. The place is dirty the owner had a tee shirt on that looked like he was working on an old car and the clientel were kind of scary. With that said I LOVED it!!! This is what a dive is all about and everybody must experience it. A creative list of choices like the Chicago, Manhatten, Hairy Brain, or my favorite the Drive-in (slaw chili cheese) i tried the steaming pile picnic fries with mock duck onions beans peppers and cheese, delish! You choose your dog then pick the style. Burgers and other sandwiches are available. %0AWhen you go there dont be put off by the appearance just sit down and eat, but bring quarters for meter parking and make sure your shots are up to date. Eat well you'll die happy! FoodDude ; )

Stopped here last November on trip to Minneapolis. We were heading home and stopped in for early lunch. My sister was too hung over from seeing Zane Lamprey (of Three Sheets and Drinking Made Easy fame) the night before, so she stayed in car. But my buddy and I went in and enjoyed the best dogs we've ever had. This place looked like so much fun on Triple D, and the show wasn't wrong. The owner that was on show wasn't in, but the cook and server were fun to talk too. Loved their comments on all the music on radio. Have wanted to go back since then, but couldn't find time on my May Minnesota Triple D roadtrip. Next time in Minneapolis though will have to get another dog.

It is a DIVE!!!! But they serve a great Hot Dog!!!! And I wouldn't take a large group!!!! The folks working there were friendly and the cook washed his hands numerous times when preparing food {a very good sign for me} The "decor" is very unique to say the least!!!! BUT fun!!!!

I don' know why everyone likes it here. Maybe I just had a really bad day - and it wasn't the guy on the show - but the food was AWFUL, everything was filthy, and service was just plain sad. The fries were good, I'll give 'em that. Did I just go on a freak day?

Go to The Wienery for delicious, cheap food in a joint that seems to wear its filth and decrepitude as a badge of honor. Bring cash.
Voted by City Pages as having the Best Hot Dog in 2010's Best of Issue: the Italian Veggie Dog. Purists & cavemen may scoff, but the Italian Veggie is a fine dog: flavorful, and sufficiently juicy.
Get your dog Mexican style or we aren't friends
strictly a word of mouth joint, but wow! a must find if you enjoy old school fries and hot dog. Dont bother tweeting or fan paging them, worth just making the trip yourself
Try the off menu "minneapolis" sandwich! Chef's secret.
Don't forget to get you dog wrapped in bacon!
The Cleveland dog is delicious! Best Cole slaw around!
The Chicago Dog and chili cheese fries are to die for.
The Tasmanian Devil might just fry your mouth off, it is just that spicy. Any variation on a chili dog here is the way to go.
if you're looking for a place in minnesota that has the best chicago style hot dogs, this place comes pretty close to the taste. however the chicago style italian beef does not.
